Happy Guru Ravidas Jayanti.

Happy Guru Ravidas Jayanti.

Celebrating Equality, Social Justice, and Devotion. May the teaching Guru Ravidas Bless You With Wisdom.

#GuruRavidas, a key figure in the #Bhaktimovement of the 15th and 16th centuries, is celebrated for his profound teachings on equality, social justice, and devotion. His birth anniversary, known as Guru Ravidas Jayanti, is observed with great reverence, especially in northern India, including regions such as Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Chandigarh. On this day, people gather to honor his contributions to society, reflect on his spiritual wisdom, and remember his efforts toward societal reform and the dismantling of the caste system.

Guru Ravidas was born in #Varanasi, India, and became an influential poet, saint, and social reformer. He strongly advocated for a society free from #castebased #discrimination and worked tirelessly to create a more inclusive world based on equality and unity. A revered poet, Guru Ravidas's verses are included in the Guru Granth Sahib, the #holyscripture of #Sikhism. His powerful words continue to inspire people today, advocating for love, compassion, and a deep, personal relationship with #God, irrespective of one's social or caste status. In addition to his role in the Bhakti movement, Guru Ravidas played a significant part in shaping the future of religious thought in India. Mira Bai, a prominent Hindu mystic and devotee, considered Guru Ravidas to be her spiritual guide. His teachings resonated deeply with her and continue to influence spiritual practices in the region.Guru Ravidas is also considered the founder of the #Ravidassia religion, which emerged in the 20th century, based on his spiritual messages and ideas, his messages of love, equality, and social reform, and it remains a significant occasion to promote harmony, unity, and the celebration of diversity in society. #heeals #ngo #India #volunteering #internship #Instagram #gurugranthsahib

Wishing you all a very Happy Ambedkar Jayanti.

On April 14, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth is commemorated as Ambedkar Jayanti or Bhim Jayanti, observed every year on April 14. In recognition of Ambedkar Jayanti essential contribution to the Indian legal system and constitution, the day is marked every year. In the Canadian province of British Columbia, the day is also known as ‘Ambedkar Equality Day.’

On April 14, India commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the country’s first law minister. The day is known as Ambedkar Jayanti. Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar is widely regarded as the founder of the Indian Constitution. Under his presidency, the constituent assembly drafted the world’s longest written constitution, which is now known as the Indian Constitution.

He was a staunch opponent of the caste system, and he worked tirelessly to get it eliminated from society.

He was constantly in sympathy with the underprivileged, and he fought tirelessly to improve women’s lives, laborers, and untouchables, among others. Dr. Ambedkar was a scholar in various subjects, including political science, law, and economics, and an erudite social reformer and prominent orator. Dr. Ambedkar was also a social reformer, economist, and influential orator.

He envisioned an India in which all people are treated equally under the law. He became a leading advocate for India’s independence from British control, leading to the formation of the Indian National Congress.

This Ambedkar Jayanti, let’s pledge to stand against discrimination and fight inequality.

He was the man who fought against discrimination and oppression. He was the epitome of confidence and dedication. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar will always inspire us to dedicate our lives to making other people’s lives better.

“Political tyranny is nothing compared to the social tyranny and a reformer who defies society is a more courageous man than a politician who defies Government.”

WORLD HEALTH DAY 2022

Are we able to reimagine a world where clean air, water and food are available to all?Where economies are focused on health and well-being?Where cities are liveable and people have control over their health and the health of the planet?

In the midst of a pandemic, a polluted planet, increasing diseases like cancer, asthma, heart disease, on World Health Day 2022, WHO will focus global attention on urgent actions needed to keep humans and the planet healthy and foster a movement to create societies focused on well-being. WHO estimates that more than 13 million deaths around the world each year are due to avoidable environmental causes. This includes the climate crisis which is the single biggest health threat facing humanity. The climate crisis is also a health crisis.

Our political, social and commercial decisions are driving the climate and health crisis. Over 90% of people breathe unhealthy air resulting from burning of fossil fuels. A heating world is seeing mosquitos spread diseases farther and faster than ever before. Extreme weather events, land degradation and water scarcity are displacing people and affecting their health. Pollution and plastics are found at the bottom of our deepest oceans, the highest mountains, and have made their way into our food chain. Systems that produce highly processed, unhealthy foods and beverages are driving a wave of obesity, increasing cancer and heart disease while generating a third of global greenhouse gas emissions.
While the COVID-19 pandemic showed us the healing power of science, it also highlighted the inequities in our world. The pandemic has revealed weaknesses in all areas of society and underlined the urgency of creating sustainable well-being societies committed to achieving equitable health now and for future generations without breaching ecological limits. The present design of the economy leads to inequitable distribution of income, wealth and power, with too many people still living in poverty and instability. A well-being economy has human well-being, equity and ecological sustainability as its goals. These goals are translated into long-term investments, well-being budgets, social protection and legal and fiscal strategies. Breaking these cycles of destruction for the planet and human health requires legislative action, corporate reform and individuals to be supported and incentivized to make healthy choices.
April 7 is celebrated and observed as World Health Day. The day is celebrated annually in accordance with the World Health Organization’s aim to discuss health-related issues and to draw attention to specific health issues concerning people across the world. The first World Health Day was celebrated and observed in 1950, after 7 April was set aside as a designated date to celebrate the creation of the World Health Organization in 1948 in the First Health Assembly. The day thereby marks the anniversary of WHO after it was established in 1948.

World Health Day Theme 2022
The theme for this year’s World Health Day is “Our Planet, Our Health". Amid the ongoing pandemic and pollution growing on the planet, diseases like cancer, asthma, and heart diseases are increasing rapidly. World Health Organization aims to focus global attention on the urgent actions needed to “keep humans and the planet healthy."

World Health Day History

World Health Day was one of the first official acts of the World Health Organization, which came into force on 7th April 1948. The first World Health Day was celebrated on 22 July in 1949 and the date was later changed to 7 April, in order to encourage student participation.

In order to understand the history of World Health Day, it is important to look at the creation of the World Health Organization, which took place in 1945 at the United Nations Conference. A motion was passed to create a new and independent organization that is solely dedicated to discussing health topics. As many as 61 countries signed the agreement for the inception of the World Health Organization on April 7 in 1948.

World Health Day Significance

World Health Day is celebrated every year to raise awareness about the ongoing health issues that concern people across the world. The day is also used as an opportunity to spread awareness about the overall health and well-being of people.

National Safe Motherhood Day.

National Safe Motherhood Day is celebrated on April 11 each year. In 2003, the Government of India declared April 11, the birth anniversary of Kasturba Gandhi as National Safe Motherhood Day. The declaration is an initiative of White Ribbon Alliance India (WRAI), an alliance of 1800 organizations.

This day is observed annually to create awareness of adequate access to care during pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal services. Share these quotes to spread awareness about motherhood.
Women have a god gift to give birth to a child. In itself it is a miracle. In our country there are women who died while giving birth and also don't get nutrition, proper care during the course of pregnancy and after that also. National Safe Motherhood Day (NSMD) is celebrated to aware people about healthcare facilities for women. Let us study further about NSMD.
National Safe Motherhood Day (NSMD) is observed annually on 11 April to raise awareness about the proper healthcare of women and maternity facilities to pregnant and lactating women. This day also focus on reducing anaemia among women, institutional delivery, for better pre and post natal health care etc. which are necessary for mothers.

World Religion Day.

  World Religion Day.

The aim of World Religion Day, held on the third Sunday in January every year, is to promote inter-faith understanding and harmony. Our World has hundreds of nations with thousands of cultures that stretch back into pre-history, and throughout all that time we’ve had countless religions rise to prominence. Whether you’re Hindu, Jewish, Catholic, Shinto, Buddhist, or one of a million other faiths, World Religion Day is your chance to share your culture with others and take an opportunity to learn from others about theirs.
Religion Day is not about conversion, it’s about learning about the religions that shape the world around you, maybe do a little research into your favorite culture to learn a bit about its foundational religions. Whether you’re learning about the Hindu faith with its thousands of Gods, or precisely how the thousands of denominations of Christianity grew out of the Judaic faith thousands of years ago, Religion Day is your opportunity to broaden your horizons.
Obviously, this includes taking this opportunity to speak to others about your religion, but remember as you do so that Religion Day is not about conversion. Speak to another with an open heart and open mind, and share what your religion has to say, and then take the time to listen to them talk about theirs from a place of understanding and love.

Global Handwashing Day is October 15

Global Handwashing Day is October 15. And as every year, the day serves as a platform to raise global awareness on the importance of hand-washing with soap.

The COVID-19 pandemic provides an important reminder that one of the most effective ways to stop the spread of germs and stay healthy is also one of the simplest — handwashing with soap and water. Keeping hands clean can prevent 1 in 3 diarrheal illnesses and 1 in 5 respiratory infections, such as a cold or the flu.

This year’s theme, “Hand Hygiene for All,” seeks to raise awareness of making soap and water available globally, especially in public places, schools, and health care facilities. It also calls for institutions and individuals to improve hand hygiene efforts in the COVID-19 response that can outlast the pandemic and ensure continued access to clean water and soap. Calling for all of society to achieve universal hand hygiene now and for the future.
Many germs that can make people sick are spread when we don’t wash our hands with soap and clean, running water. That is why handwashing is so important, especially at key times such as after using the bathroom, when preparing food, before eating, and after coughing, sneezing, or blowing your nose.
Handwashing with soap and water is not only simple and inexpensive, but also can dramatically reduce the number of young children who get sick. Teaching people about handwashing helps them and their communities stay healthy. Handwashing education in the community can:

Reduce the number of people who get sick with diarrhea by about 23–40%

Reduce absenteeism due to gastrointestinal illness in schoolchildren by 29–57%

Reduce diarrheal illness in people with weakened immune systems by about 58%

Reduce respiratory illnesses, like colds, in the general population by about 16–21%
